Re-sequencing stops without breaking promises

Date Published

A late pickup at 10:40 put a grocery route twenty-five minutes behind with eleven stops still to go, four of them in tight windows.

Instead of pushing every stop back, the dispatcher re-sequenced the remaining route so the tight windows moved first and the flexible ones absorbed the delay.

Every promised window was kept. This case study shows the decision step by step, and what the operation would have lost by leaving the route as it was.
